Our search is divided in two, a web search engine, like Google and Yahoo!, and a directory search.

Our directory is made up of hundreds of categories, which are broken into many sub-categories. These categories hold thousands of links to web sites, these web sites are submitted by their webmasters. We determine whether these sites are acceptable to be listed in the directory. As our directory is fairly large, we offer the opportunity to allow people to apply to be an editor of each category. This helps us to maintain the directory more efficiently and quickly.

Search Engine:

At the moment, our search results are from Google, which means that you will get near enough the same results if you searched from Google's home page. While this is satisfactory, we have started our own search engine, so we can design our own algorithms that affect the top results. Searching the Directory:

Searching the directory is very simple, it is keyword based, which means that if you search for "web design", the results will take into account the title and description of the web sites. It will search these and will show only the web sites that has these keywords in their titles and descriptions. Unlike search engines, where they spider web sites and save the individual pages to their databases and then, depending on the search terms, pick out the most relevant keywords that appear on a page. Our search isn't case sensitive, so if you search for "web site design" or "WeB SIte DeSigN", it will return the same results. The results will now return the whole words that you enter as keywords other than keywords within words.

The Directory:

The navigation of the directory is straight forward to understand. Each category has a subject, and sub-categories which is a sub-subject to the parent category. You can suggest your web site to a category, by choosing the relevant category and then clicking "Suggest A Site" at the bottom of the page.
